What-You-Must-Do-In-Order-To-Succeed

What you focus on the longest becomes your strongest. Alot of men for example put their work first. They excel in their careers but sometimes fall short with their health. They fall short with their relationships such as the most important one, the relationship they have with their spouse. Personal Development for me is all about change. The person who is willing to actually change because he wants the new result bad enough. Is that you or not you?. You know, a great question in a mentoring session about finances or health for example is, How many people here want to be rich?. Everyone will raise their hand. The second question is How many people here expect to be rich?. There will be less hands up as there will be hesitation. The hesitation comes from our conditioning. If he or she or whoever isn’t healthy or rich, then the million dollar question is can I do it?. Herein lies the essential difference for me in terms of people who are immersed in right thinking and those who are not. People involved in personal development “expect” to attain the outcome. Every book read, every seed sowed, every tape listened to strengthens their faith, period.

If you want to do something you have never done before, you have to change. Work harder on yourself than you do on your job. Everything has to do with how much value you can bring to the market place. Now Im talking about the market place here, not whether a parent is valuable, a car is valuable, but the marketplace. Have you ever though about that?. The level of pay that you can expect to receive is directly proportional to the value you have. As you can see now with the worldwide crisis, it is easily seen that college degrees for example are losing their potency. What happens if there are less employment opportunities on offer than graduates in engineering let’s say available?. Unemployment unfortunately. We now live in an economy where the individual must learn new skills. Another myth we have learned in society is that a job is the safest option available for income. This is so untrue.

Usually a person working a job has only one skill, can only speak one language, etc. If he loses his position which so many are at the moment, one day he wakes up and sees his competition light years ahead of him in terms of value they bring to the marketplace. I feel so sorry for middle aged people who bought into this idea 20 years ago. People now who are being laid off in their 50′s are going to find it very difficulty if they do not have other skills to bring to the marketplace. In one way a big crisis like this is a bid advantage for multinationals. In an environment like this, multinationals can easily get very skilled labor at a fraction of the cost they should be paying. Therefore I implore you, if you are one of those people either who is unemployed or fearing being let go, start to develop immediately your skill set.
What can you do to improve the work you are doing at the moment?.
Where can you find information and training that can better you as an individual.?

Also right now if you are working in a position, you should doing more than is expected of you. Always and especially now, do more than is expected of you. This is an investment in your future and you are sending a clear message to your boss that if people have to be left go, you will be the last person out the door. You must start right now investing in your future. Do today what others wont and you will have tomorrow what others don’t. You are NOT at the mercy of the economy. You have full control over all areas of your life. Start today and embrace the change..
