If you are a father or grandfather reading this post, I hope you get some value out of this. As your kids and grandkids are growing up, they will obviously when they reach their teenage years ask for pocket money. Now in alot of households teenagers get paid for
1) Doing household chores
2) Sometimes doing nothing at all.
Why would you want to pay your son to take out the garbage?. Would you like him to grow up to be a bin man?. Why would you pay your daughter to clean her room. Do you want your daughter to grow up and be a cleaner?. Maybe you do or don’t but I think the choice of what someone wants to do with their life should be their life, period. For me, chores and house duties is their natural responsibility. If you as a parent don’t get paid to do it, why should you pay your kids to do it?.
How about we reward our kids this way which in the long term will massively ass value to their lives. How about putting your money where your values are?. What if you could fill the minds of your children with the right thoughts, such things as how to have an outstanding attitude, how to take 100% responsibility for your life. Wouldn’t you think if your children read books on these topics (books designed for teenagers), it would make a massive difference to their lives in the long term?. I think they would. Any successful person will tell you that they are the sum total of the information they put into their head. Personal development always precedes success and is directly proportional to success. You are what you eat when it comes to looking after your body. It is the exact food with your mind. Mind food so to speak. If you can get your children thinking the right way at an early age, you are really helping them out.
So I repeat, if you are a parent or grandparent, I highly recommend you start investing in your children and grandchildren. Invest in them by giving them books to read, books that can shape their lives from such an early age. This would be the greatest investment you could ever make. Every parent wants their children to grow up as respectable and responsible human beings. This activity will produce this.
This is how you do it. Your son or daughter wants pocket money, no problem. Give them one of the books below to read and only give them the money when they have given you a one page report. This report needs to outline what they learned from the book and how they can apply the information in their own life. Discuss the book, the one page report and how they can use this information in their lives and then they get the money. Isn’t that extremely valuable and rewarding for a child growing up?. It will be an uplifting experience for both the parent and child alike. You can start from as young as 9 to 10 years old. Try this method out and watch the magnificent positive changes that takes place with your child, guaranteed. Browse these personal development books below. These are easy reads and will be no problem for kids to read.
